The melting heat transfer of CuO—coconut oil embedded in a non-uniform copper metal foam—was addressed. Copper foam is placed channel-shaped Thermal Energy Storage (TES) unit heated from one side. with linear porosity gradient direction perpendicular to the surface. finite element method was applied simulate natural convection flow and phase change TES unit. results showed that could significantly boost rate stored energy best corresponds case which maximum next variation placement’s inclination angle only important final stage charging, where there dominant flow. porous pore size induces minimal impact on rate, except large 30 density (PPI). presence nanoparticles increase or decrease charging time.
